I found them reasonably comfortable, despite the build, and the freedom of movement was still fine during a test hike up Rhinog Fawr in a wild corner of Snowdonia. They also feature boot hooks at the ends of the legs, which help keep the trousers securely in place during any activity. It won’t get you through a heavy downpour but has proven enough to keep me dry during these last weeks of Autumnal drizzle.
