Copper in its natural form has a dull finish and will age and change colour over time once it has been exposed to air. If the product has been welded and cleaned, this area could appear brighter and slightly different to the original copper sheet. This will also age and change colour over time along with the rest of the worktop. Sealant helps to keep a uniform look and prevent staining. However, this does neutralise the antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which make it a little less hygienic. Be careful with heat!

That lacquer protects the worktop but also stops the ageing process. Keeping the lacquer in good condition is paramount. Therefore, we recommend only using warm soapy water and a soft cloth to clean it. We absolutely can’t get enough of kitchens and eating areas with wood-effect designs – particularly when accented with copper!
