About this deal

These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone. Abbi is a virgin from an extremely religious family. Her faith and virginity were quite important to her and she’s lived a sheltered life making her very naïve to the world. At this point I was thinking: “Oh god, not this shit again.“ In the span of only a few chapters Nina West made me feel all the feels. And those extreme and contradicting feelings continued as Abbi went on a journey of discovery. The trope of young and innocent girl being corrupted by and turning the billionaire tyrant into a puppy dog is not a new one, but in West’s hand it became a refreshing (and steamy, oh boy is it ever sexy) erotic story of a girl discovering her own strength and opening herself up to a world of new experiences. A big boobed virgin FMC, who is completely "innocent" and from a little small town in Pennsylvania, with a population of 5000. After her God-fearing mother drives her batshit crazy, Abbi realises that she cannot stay home for the summer, especially after her high school (and now college) boyfriend cheats on her so he can "sow his wild oats". So she flees halfway across the country to an "opening soon" luxury hotel where she hopes to tend the gardens.

I stopped reading this series after book 2. If you are into porn, like taudry, B-rated movie porn, with a lame plot, this is your series. If that is not your thing, stay away. A woman from the past shows up. Yes, he has had sex with her before. Abbi thinks they are still hooking up. She freaks, he tells her to get over it. She sees "proof", is devastated and goes to her room where two of her roommates are having a threesome with Threesome guy. She watches for a bit. Then a friend says she can stay with him. The Not so Great and Everything in Between: Sigh. This is a personal bias, so I’m trying to keep my review as objective as possible. Cliffhangers are not my usual cuppa, and I started to feel that it might go that way when it took quite a while for Henry and Abbi to make it to the next level of their relationship. I kept hoping that it wasn’t going to happen...but it was hard to deny when the story started to slow down, even though it got closer and closer to that fateful ending. She 100% belongs with Henry though as proven through book 3&4. I love their relationship and connection, their understanding of each other. Literally had two assistants before the heroine claim sexual assault charges only to find out both where lying of corse.

So this just turned into unrealistic exponential fictional proportions of "this shit does happen in real life BUT NOT ALL TO THE SAME PERSON IN A MANNER OF WEEKS". You then have a rich, breathtakingly gorgeous asshole billionaire who obviously (much akin to the cliche vibes of "50 Shades of Gray without the BDSM" this was giving off) sees something in our dear innocent Abbi and just has to have her... as his assistant. And what was so great about Abbi? EVERY man loved her to distraction, almost immediately, and I didn't get it. Henry was willing to risk his hotel for her about five minutes after meeting her. A few of the books have very little Henry, but a lot of Abbi and a lot of sex. This was both surprising, but also incredibly annoying. Enjoyable but also has moments of wtf did I just read??? Owner of the luxury hotel chain, Henry Wolf is cool and composed, successful with everything he touches, and undeniably beautiful. And for some reason Abbi can't fathom, he wants her—the farm girl from small town, USA with no corporate experience—as his personal assistant.

Abbi grows up so much throughout this story, the sex, education, and even religion that comes out of this story that she has to overcome are so wonderful to read, at times I wish I had her strength. She is so heartbroken during this book but she finds the strength and friendships that she needs to come through them. And wh Abbi was also super jealous and insecure and the book was filled with way too many instances of her not trusting him. Henry stands accused of abuse and rape on the very eve of the hotel’s grand opening with a swarm of media descending on Wolf Cove. His father and brother are also on their way and while Henry stands to lose absolutely everything, Abbi is left reeling from the discovery of the accusations against Henry.

Was this something I normally read? - No it's not... But who cares... sometimes you have to branch out what is normal and just enjoy that 3rd slice of cake when no one is watching... So Abbi was naïve and Henry was a jerk. Sometimes authors tend to use the ‘tell’ method when developing characters instead of ‘showing’ character traits through their actions but in this case, the naivety and jerkishness of the characters was utterly believable and very well portrayed without the author ever once having to say that either was naïve or a jerk. These are just traits these characters had and I was completely convinced. Hell, I was even convinced of their conflicts and instead of following the expected route, I was pleasantly surprised at the realistic outcome of the conflicts between these two personalities. MOST things kinda wrap up "nicely", some are left open but it's a HEA that's expected BY THE DAMN COVER! Abbi scrambles to meet his professional demands while she battles her growing attraction to him. Physical feelings she shouldn't have because he's her boss, because she's way out of her league with him, and because they'll never be reciprocated. Over all I truly loved this entire story, there was a good amount of angst and issues here and there but they weren’t drug out and distracting. The author even had me, ME, of all people accept Abbi’s mom and their relationship rekindling even after all her bullshit. That is a not a small feat I promise you that.

One of my favorite interactions between Abbi and Henry is when they first meet, it was her first time being drunk. So she was rather honest with her thoughts and it was hilarious especially because she didn't know that he was her boss at the time. That was definitely one of the sweetest moments between the two. On a more positive note, Abbi has been expanding her soap business, which is now called Farm Girl Soaps. She received help from Margo and Henry, who assisted her in getting her soaps approved by Nordstrom and other companies, as well as helped her find clients. She also had a bunch of photoshoots and advertisements done, which is definitely a big step for somebody like Abbi!Enter Henry, a 10 years older man, a very big boss, a little kinky, a little dominating... You get where I'm going.
