About this deal

An accomplice should normally make a witness statement before giving evidence. It should not be signed until a guilty plea has been entered if he or she is also being prosecuted. However, a draft may be prepared beforehand. parties to crimes, identical in type to the offence charged, evidence of which has been admitted as proving system and intent and negating accident ( Davies v DPP [1954] AC 378).

Guilt can also stem from the belief that you’ve failed to fulfill expectations you or others have set. Of course, this guilt doesn’t reflect the effort you’ve put in to overcome the challenges keeping you from achieving those goals. I am not going to say anymore as I don’t want to give the plot away, but this is a very riveting and powerful story. I loved it. All I can say is read this book… I don’t think you will be disappointed. It also can't work out how to phrase anything that I want to say about this story, in light of what I know now about how it all ends. I suspect its best if you read the blurb, and read the book for yourself. You won't be disappointed - it truly is a gripping story. Say to yourself, or write down, what happened: “I feel guilty because I shouted at my kids.” “I broke a promise.” “I cheated on a test.” There may be occasions when it may be appropriate not to bring proceedings against an accomplice even where there is sufficient evidence. For example, the offence might be serious but the involvement of the accomplice may be minor.

Overcoming negative thoughts and emotions takes a lot of willpower and support. Without the support of people you trust, it can be hard to cope with feelings of guilt, shame, anxiety, and other negative emotions. So if you find that you are struggling to cope with feelings of guilt, talk to someone. It can be a close friend, relative, or a professional.

Am I Guilty, although I wouldn’t describe it as a fast paced read was incredibly intriguing from the beginning. I will say that I am willing to give this another go if I feel like it at some stage just because I'm left feeling like I must have missed something because everyone is loving this book. And now that I'm aware of the speed of the story, that will make a difference second time round I think. This is Kabler’s first thriller, having previously delved into mysteries (I reviewed one here), and I am thoroughly impressed by the author’s change in language and tone. The chapters are split into different characters, and whilst their voices aren’t very distinctive, it was interesting to gauge different points of view, whereas Kabler’s mysteries have a different vibe.
